Clear indicators of an upcoming talent shortage threaten governmental ability to serve constituents and accomplish goals. One indicator is the baby-boomer generation nearing retirement from the workforce causing a gap from vacancies in critical positions and specialized jobs.
Traditional talent recruitment and selection approaches will not be enough to bridge this divide. Instead, a new approach called talent science will help public sector entities successfully manage workforce challenges by hiring candidates that closely align with organizational role requirements. Greater candidate fit means elevated worker engagement, lower rates of turnover and ultimately, a higher performing organization.
