Ensuring business continuity, designing collections remotely, and harnessing 3D techniques

The flexibility to work virtually and collaboratively with colleagues out of the office and with business partners across the globe has become more important than ever. Designers are working from home, there are limitations on how many people can be in an office, and international travel restrictions are likely to remain in place for some time. In this new world, technology is critical to support the garment design, development, sampling, and sourcing processes.

This roundtable will bring together peers from different fashion and apparel companies, WhichPLM, Fortude, and Infor to explore the challenges we face today and tomorrow, to identify where there is commonality and discuss where new approaches and technology might help. Topics will include:

  • How do we ensure business continuity and enable remote working and collaboration
  • What strategies and digital tools could help make working remotely or in the office more efficient and effective
  • How can 3D software be used to digitally design garments and in the sampling process
  • What other tools could support design decisions, e.g., consumer voting on new designs via social
